Organization Profile

Midtown Health Center was established as the Norfolk Community Health Care Clinic in October of 1999. The mission, of now Midtown Health Center, is to focus health care and health care access on the un-insured, under-insured, and those with additional barrier to care such as language barriers, transportation issues and social isolations. We are a non-profit 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Care Clinic (FQHC) serving the greater Norfolk and Madison area. The Madison Medical Clinic was brought on board in March 2008, and the Dental Clinic opened in September 2009. Our Board of Directors consists of 12 volunteers with expertise in various areas. They govern the clinic's operations and seek funding to provide quality affordable health and dental care to the residents of northeast Nebraska.

Project Description

Midtown Health Center plans to use funds raised here to purchase a pediatric exam table. Pediatric medical supplies provide an entertaining and calming focus for children while improving diagnosis and treatment for these often frightened patients.  Creating a fun and relaxing environment with a pediatric exam table combined with our best practices can reduce fears and anxieties about visiting the doctor for our pediatric patients. A child-friendly medical environment can lead to better outcomes. When patients and parents are comfortable and relaxed, communication is easier, exams and procedures go faster, making for a better overall experience for our patients, their parents and our providers.
